Would you climb Kilimanjaro for the Greenfingers Charity?

Are you ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime? The Greenfingers Charity invites adrenaline seekers and bucket-list enthusiasts to take on an extraordinary challenge – climbing Kilimanjaro, the legendary ‘Roof of Africa’!

Conquering Kilimanjaro is no small feat. The journey to the summit takes 7 days, with nothing but a tent between you and the wilds of Africa. An elevation of 5,895m pushes bodies to the limit, with an overnight trek on summit day taking you to views that reach for hundreds of miles. It’s no wonder this challenge is often described as life changing.

Earmarked for 2026, this new event will enable fundraisers to take the Greenfingers Charity to the top of the world. Already confirmed to participate is Greenfingers ambassador and fundraising extraordinaire, Kate Ebbens, who is the driving force behind the challenge. Following on from her incredible 366-day fundraiser, Kate is now calling upon others to join her for this once in a lifetime opportunity to take Greenfingers to the highest point in Africa.

Organised by the expert team at Charity Challenge, this guided trek will take participants through Kilimanjaro’s spectacular landscapes. The 7 day route begins in the lush Lemosho Glades rainforest, ascending to the Shira Plateau, where the awe-inspiring, ice-capped Kibo Peak comes into view. From there, you’ll traverse the dramatic Southern Flank, tackle the Barranco Wall, and ascend the Barafu Route before reaching the summit.

This self-funded challenge isn’t just about testing your limits, it’s about supporting the vital work of Greenfingers Charity. From the moment you sign up, the Greenfingers team will be on hand to guide you through fundraising and communication efforts, ensuring you make the most of this rewarding experience.

Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Greenfingers Charity, said: “Over the years, amazing fundraisers, like Kate, have proven time and again their unwavering determination to support Greenfingers. This Kilimanjaro challenge is no different. The trek is gruelling, with months of training followed by 7 tough days on the mountain. But the reward is immeasurable. Standing at the summit at dawn, knowing you’ve made a real difference for the children and families who benefit from Greenfingers hospice gardens, will be a memory to cherish forever. We very much hope you’ll join Kate for this unforgettable adventure.”
