Helen Barker - one of Greenfingers’ most intrepid and dedicated fundraisers – recently took on the awe-inspiring challenge of summiting Mt Kilimanjaro to raise much-needed funds for our Charity.
It was no easy feat, even for Helen who in 2019 ran not one, but TWO marathons across the Sahara Desert for Greenfingers – a total of 52.4 miles in one of the most hostile environments on earth!
Helen said: “Recognising the struggle and embracing it is when the magic happens. I'm still yet to process my time on the mountain and my relationship with Kilimanjaro, but doing it for Greenfingers was nothing short of a privilege.”
Linda Petrons, Director of Communications and Fundraising at Greenfingers Charity, said: “A million thanks to Helen Barker who has been such an inspiration and a fabulous ambassador throughout the charity’s incredible partnership with Kew Green Hotels. We’re so pleased your final challenge for Greenfingers was such a huge (quite literally!) success.”
