You may have already heard or seen that in just a couple of weeks’ time, FUNdraiser Extraordinaire – Helen Barker from Kew Green Hotels – is heading out to one of the most hostile places on Earth to run a double marathon in the Sahara Desert!
Helen has undergone a gruelling training plan for the challenge including taking on the Longhorn Marathon, the Doncaster Half and the Run Round Sheffield, as well as the 50km Peak District Challenge, the Kimbolton Half Marathon and, along with colleagues from Kew Green Hotels, the Three Peaks Challenge. And of course not forgetting the many other challenges she has already undertaken to support Greenfingers Charity.
Helen flies out of Stansted Airport on the 10th October to Marrrakech and after an 8-hour transfer will find herself in the heart of the Sahara Desert, where she aims to run to the Nakhla Dunes, a total of 52.4 miles.
We are so very grateful to Helen for taking on such an amazing challenge of a life-time to raise money for Greenfingers Charity to help bring the gift of a garden to life-limited children and families who spend time in hospices across the UK. Go Helen!
