Kate's 366 challenge reaches 7 month milestone and over £14k raised

At the beginning of the year, Kate Ebbens set herself a challenge to run 5km every day throughout 2024 and raise £20k to support our work.

She recently told us how the challenge is going...

"The days, weeks, months are running by now and the total raised keeps increasing thanks to the support and kindness of garden centres, suppliers and individuals. This month Yorkshire Garden Centre and Maze Rattan, are my August sponsors and I'll will be running with them during the month and will also be completing an official 10km run. The legs are still pushing hard as I keep heading towards my goal of 1000 miles.  Later this month, I will have a long weekend in the Lakes where I’m looking to run some of the most beautiful hills in the country.

During July I was invited to the opening of the Sensory Courtyard Garden at Derian House, a children's hospice in Chorley.  Greenfingers Charity had a huge amount of support at the opening from ambassador's, suppliers and friends and for me to see how the courtyard can benefit the children, families and staff was incredibly moving and emotional.  All this money I am trying to raise is so the charity can continue building gardens for hospices...

Your kind donations not just support the charity but inspire me to run every day whatever the weather and fitting it in around my full-time job, as well as being President of GIMA and supporting Greenfingers and being a trying to be a Mum!!!

Thank you again for all your support...every pound donated will help create more magical gardens."
